Something Called "Eververse" Coming To Destiny

by on 06/01/2015

On May 19th Bungie filed some new trademarks, all of which have something to do with an unrevealed product or feature in Destiny called “Eververse.”
What is Eververse? Maybe the description filed at the trademark office will tell us a thing or two….

For:
interactive game software; video game software; audio books in the nature of novels, comic books, graphic novels, reference guides and instruction guides; digital books in the nature of novels, comic books, graphic novels, reference guides and instruction guides, costumes; Halloween costumes and masks sold in connection therewith; costumes for use in role-playing games; apparel, namely, shirts, sweatshirts, pants, shorts, jackets, footwear, hats and caps

No go. They knew we’d try that.
Note that Bungie also recently filed another trademark for logos and designs relating to the name “The Taken King.” Those designs looked much more like they were meant as DLC trademarks:
bungie the taken king logo 944.0 - Something Called "Eververse" Coming To Destiny
The Eververse logo, meanwhile, is more obtuse in its meaning:
2875950 ev - Something Called "Eververse" Coming To Destiny
In addition to this logo, Bungie trademarked two names: “Eververse” and “Eververse Trading Co.” This second one seems to suggest a method of trading items between players may be added to the game in the future, but this is just speculation.
The real meaning of “Eververse” is known to no one but top-brass employees at Bungie, and will remain that way until something about it is revealed. E3 is two weeks away. We’ll let you know.
