Lauren Cohan Will Be Bedeviled By Spooky Doll in New Movie

I’m going to come clean because I feel like you, the mostly anonymous people on the internet who read this, and I are close friends who can tell each other anything. I’m not scared of zombies. Vampires, serial killers, mummies and werewolves get at best chuckle out of me.

But for some primal, illogical reason creepy dolls fill me with childlike fear. So I’ll watch Lauren Cohan’s upcoming film The Boy, but I might have to hide my face a bit.

The premise of the film, described by The Hollywood Reporter, is a setup for nightmare fuel. Cohan will play a nanny who is hired by a weird couple to take care of their “child.” The child is actually a lifelike doll the couple use to cope with the death of their son, but of course Cohan starts to notice that it seems to be alive.

The film is being made by Lakeshore Entertainment and Vertigo Entertainment. William Brent Bell is directing from a script by Stacey Menear. The film should start shooting in March. That easily gives her time to shoot it while The Walking Dead is on break, so no need to assume anything one way or another about the status of Maggie.
