The Walking Dead Super Bowl Spot! Love It or Hate It?
AMC had its own little TV spot for The Walking Dead during this year’s Super Bowl LI on Sunday night. During the broadcast, a very short and sweet promo spot was shown for the smash-hit series. You can check the clip out below.
The clip showed a shot of a football on a football feel. It then gets smashed by Negan’s (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire, dubbed Lucille. The spot declares, “Football season is over.” The tweet with the spot notes, “Your Sundays belong to #TWD now.” That’s pretty apt as the show’s set to return for the second half of season 7 next weekend.
Basically, it was a very short promotional spot. It didn’t have much in the way of actual content and footage. It was just a short spot to say, “Hey, The Walking Dead is back next weekend.” However, it was hard to get really excited about the spot, since it didn’t offer much in the way of hype. Besides, the audience is already well aware of Negan, Lucille and the horrible things he does with his “girl.”
Regardless, this might be enough to get fans excited for the show’s return next weekend. Season 7B of The Walking Dead premieres on Sunday, February 12 on AMC.
