PAX East: Titanfall VR Would Make You Lose Your Lunch
Virtual reality might be the future of gaming, but don’t expect to see it in Titanfall, Producer Drew McCoy said at this weekend’s PAX East.
Gamespot reports that McCoy and the Titanfall team had access to Oculus Rift development kits, but felt that any VR mode for Titanfall would be too nauseating because of the game’s vertical gameplay.
“I don’t know that people are going to be able to keep their lunch down,” McCoy said. “Maybe in a titan because you’re stuck to that horizontal plane. But if you’re trying to wall-run and look down six stories, I think people are going to barf everywhere.”
“I think [VR] definitely has awesome uses; I don’t know that Titanfall is one of them,” he added.
McCoy also said that there was a Titanfall single player prototype, but it was a “tiny little thing.”And it’s not likely that it will be making a comeback.
“Probably not,” McCoy said. [Titanfall] was never envisioned as a solo experience.”
