The Walking Dead Snubbed at Emmys
Did you marvel at the nuanced and complex emotion expressed by Melissa McBride in the grove? Did you follow with with rapt attention as the tension of season four tightened like a vise? Did you think any of that stuff was good enough to deserve an Emmy?
Then you aren’t an Emmy voter. The 2014 Primetime Emmy Nominations were announced today and the Walking Dead walked away with 0 in the major categories, and only two in the technical categories.
The nominations it did receive were Outstanding Sound Editing For a Series for the episode “Too Far Gone” and Outstanding Special and Visual Effects in a Supporting Role for “30 Days Without an Accident.”
Instead, it was Game of Thrones’ year. The HBO series garnered a stunning 19 nominations, proving that it’s not the fantasy category or brutal violence that Emmy voters object to.
